Filiz Çakmakcı

Filiz Çakmakcı completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Bahçeşehir University with high honors and earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Bournemouth University. She holds Graduate Membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS). As part of her ongoing professional development toward BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) accreditation, she will begin the Counselling and Psychotherapy (MSc) program at London Metropolitan University in September 2025. Her clinical approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Sessions are structured around a shared clinical formulation, clear and measurable goals, in-session exercises, and between-session transfer tasks. When working with couples, she integrates Gottman Method Couples Therapy principles, and when working with children, she incorporates Experiential Play Therapy techniques. All interventions are adapted to the client’s age/developmental level, relational dynamics, and clinical needs. The entire therapeutic process is maintained within an evidence-based, ethical, and feedback-informed framework. Filiz provides therapy services in both Turkish and English, working at a private clinic in London and via online platforms. Her areas of focus include depression, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, and family and relationship issues.
