I am currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and my academic interests are primarily shaped around clinical psychology, addiction psychology, and psychosocial intervention approaches. I believe that psychological problems cannot be understood solely at the individual level, but rather through the dynamic interaction of biological, cognitive, emotional, and environmental factors. For this reason, I place strong emphasis on adopting a biopsychosocial perspective in my work. Throughout my undergraduate education, I have focused on deepening my theoretical knowledge in psychopathology, clinical assessment, and psychological intervention processes. I make a conscious effort to support theoretical frameworks with up-to-date scientific research, to follow evidence-based approaches, and to evaluate different theoretical perspectives comparatively. In particular, the neurobiological, cognitive, and environmental factors involved in the development, maintenance, and relapse processes of addictive behaviors constitute a central focus of my academic interest. An essential component of my academic development involves strengthening my scientific reading and research skills. Accordingly, I regularly follow national and international literature and strive to improve my research methodology and statistical reasoning abilities. I believe that critically evaluating scientific knowledge is a fundamental requirement for developing ethical and effective clinical interventions. My academic approach is grounded in inquiry, evidence-based reasoning, and adherence to ethical principles. I also believe that field experience is as crucial as theoretical knowledge in professional development. In this context, I participated in volunteer work within the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), where I had the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse sociodemographic backgrounds. These experiences helped me recognize the importance of psychological support not only in clinical settings but also within broader social contexts. My field observations have contributed to the development of an empathy-based approach and reinforced my commitment to ethical responsibility as an integral part of my professional identity. In my approach to psychology, I prioritize evaluating individuals not solely based on their symptoms, but within the context of their life stories, social environments, and current circumstances. As I advance in the field of clinical psychology, I am aware of the crucial role that the therapeutic relationship plays in the process of change. Therefore, in addition to technical knowledge, I aim to further develop my communication skills, ethical awareness, and understanding of professional boundaries. In the long term, I aspire to specialize in clinical psychology and pursue a professional path that integrates academic knowledge with practice. I aim to contribute to scientific research, support the dissemination of evidence-based practices in mental health, and utilize psychological knowledge in ways that generate social benefit.
