Dilara Yivli
My name is Dilara Yivli. I am currently pursuing a fully funded double major in Psychology and International Relations at Beykent University. My academic work focuses on the relationship between individual psychology and political structures, with particular emphasis on political psychology, perceptions of democracy, identity, and the social impacts of migration. In my first thesis project, I examined the relationship between perfectionism and perceptions of modern democracy. This research analyzed how individual psychological tendencies are associated with democratic attitudes, tolerance, and perceptions of freedom. In my second thesis, I explored the role of migration in the rise of radical right-wing parties in Europe, focusing on how these parties instrumentalize migration policies through discourses of national identity and sovereignty, contributing to broader debates on identity politics. In 2024, I was accepted as a transfer undergraduate student at Saint Mary’s University (Canada), where I had the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with leading scholars in my field. However, I had to return due to financial constraints. This experience further strengthened my desire to conduct research in international academic environments and played a significant role in shaping my focus toward social and political psychology. Throughout my academic education, I have gained experience in both clinical and corporate settings. As a psychology intern at institutions such as Harmony Psychology, Çınar Psychology, and Vizyon College, I participated in case observations, psychotherapy process monitoring, and psychoeducational practices. As of November, I will continue my internship at AN Psiko, where I will remain involved in case observations, psychotherapy follow-ups, and psychoeducational work. In addition, I contributed to human resources processes at Enerjisa and the INSIDER People & Culture Department. I also worked with AIESEC Istanbul in the Global Talent and Marketing teams, managing the promotion of youth projects and digital communication strategies. Alongside these roles, I worked remotely in editorial and translation positions for various international companies. My volunteer work includes participation in psychosocial support initiatives carried out in earthquake-affected regions (Hatay) in collaboration with ErgoTerapi.biz and the Gönüllü Hareketi Association. I have also actively taken part in social responsibility projects with organizations such as TOG, Arya Youth Club, and Alliance for Humanity Turkey, where I organized art therapy activities for children and conducted awareness workshops. Among the events I have participated in are the Young Entrepreneurs Summit, Education Summit, “Büyüt Hayallerini” (Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality & Gökhan Çınar), and the Beykent Simulation of Assembly. In these organizations, I undertook roles including social media management, head of the culture and arts committee, and organizational planning. Education and Certifications: I am currently continuing my training in Art Therapy and Child-Centered Play Therapy. In addition, I have obtained certificates through participation in various seminars and courses, including Schema Modes and Clinical Presentations, Introduction to Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy, Developing Awareness in Psychotherapy, Introduction to Evolutionary Psychology, Introduction to Neuropsychology, and Obedience–Ethics Studies (Open University, UK), among many others.
