İnci İdil Kılıç
Clinical Psychologist İnci İdil Kılıç completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at TED University and subsequently pursued a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health at the University of Sussex in order to further develop her academic and practical competencies in the clinical field. As of January 2026, she has graduated from this program. Throughout her education, she acquired a strong theoretical foundation in psychopathology, psychotherapy approaches, clinical assessment, and research methods. In her undergraduate thesis titled “The Role of Different Types of Self-Construals and Narrative Types in the Relationship of Narrative Coherence and Psychological Well-Being,” she examined the role of individuals’ self-construals and narrative coherence in psychological well-being. Her work focused on the relationship between self-perception, narrative psychology, subjective experiences, and mental health. This study offered a holistic perspective on the importance of one’s self-narrative in fostering psychological resilience and well-being. For her master’s thesis, titled “The Impact of Intolerance of Uncertainty on Obsessive-Compulsive Symptoms and Generalized Anxiety Disorder,” she investigated the effects of intolerance of uncertainty on symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Within this research, she addressed the role of cognitive processes in the development and maintenance of anxiety-based psychopathologies and adopted an approach aimed at integrating scientific findings with clinical practice. In addition to her academic training, she enhanced her practical skills through clinical experiences at various institutions. At Prof. Dr. Hakan Türkçapar’s private practice, she participated in case analyses and had the opportunity to observe therapy processes while strengthening her clinical formulation skills. At Madalyon Psychiatry Center, she received training in the administration and evaluation of psychological tests and took an active role in assessment processes. During her internship at Cinnah Psychology Center, she gained clinical experience in developmental psychopathology by observing therapeutic work conducted with children, adolescents, and families. Shaping her clinical approach through a multidimensional perspective, İnci İdil Kılıç has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, play therapy, drawing analysis, crisis and trauma therapies, and grief and loss therapies. She also completed psychodynamic therapy training at İstanbul Psikoloji Okulu – Giunti Psychometrics and received supervision from Ülkü Gürışık during this process. By integrating the psychodynamic perspective with other therapeutic approaches, she aims to develop a deeper understanding of clients’ internal processes. In addition, she has completed training in mindfulness and coaching, and seeks to integrate awareness-based approaches and strength-oriented methods into her clinical and counseling work. As a clinical psychologist who believes that professional development requires continuity, she maintains an open attitude toward further training, supervision, and scientific research. Her primary areas of interest include obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, eating disorders, trauma, and grief processes. In the future, she aims to conduct individual and group therapies with children, adolescents, and adults within hospitals, social support institutions, private clinics, and multidisciplinary mental health teams, as well as to provide psychoeducation, counseling, and preventive mental health services. She continues her work in the field of mental health with an ethical, scientifically grounded, and holistic approach.
