Gizem Uman

Clinical Psychologist Gizem Uman graduated with honors from the Psychology undergraduate program at Maltepe University and completed her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology (with thesis) at Gelişim University with honors. She completed her master’s thesis titled “The Formative Role of Early Maladaptive Schemas in the Effect of Moral Development Level on the Tendency for Sexual Harassment.” During her education, she completed internships in clinical settings such as the French Lape Hospital, Sultan II Abdülhamid Han Training and Research Hospital, and the Öget Öktem Tanör Neuropsychology Laboratory, where she gained experience in case observation and clinical assessment. In her professional career, she has worked as a psychologist at institutions such as Tuzla Gelişim Academy and Mirte Dilközem Special Education Center, providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. She is currently working as a trainee psychologist at İdada Psychology and continues to provide therapy through online sessions. Gizem Uman has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Schema Therapy, EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Art Therapy. She is also certified to administer various psychometric assessments for children, including AGTE, Metropolitan, Bender Gestalt, Frostig, D2, Stanford-Binet, and Cattell tests. She is currently continuing her training in Integrative Psychotherapy. In her therapeutic approach, she adopts an integrative perspective, focusing on understanding the individual’s life story, emotional patterns, and relational dynamics. In her clinical practice, she aims to guide individuals toward self-awareness, emotional integration, and inner transformation.
