Özkan Göğercin

Özkan Göğercin graduated with honors from the English-taught Psychology Undergraduate Program at İzmir University of Economics. During his education, he completed his internship at the Alcohol and Substance Addiction Treatment and Research Center (AMATEM) of Akdeniz University. Following graduation, he fulfilled his military service as a Psychologist Second Lieutenant at the İzmir Engineering School Training and Center Command. He continuously enhances his clinical competence through certifications in Gestalt Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Health Psychology. He integrates these approaches with a holistic perspective, blending cognitive, Gestalt, humanistic, and existential orientations. He works with conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, anxiety, social phobia, and personality disorders, and currently provides active support to clients through online therapy platforms. Additionally, through his writings in Psychology Times, he aims to reach broader audiences and contribute meaningfully to the field.
